17942 (2026). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Transport: What, if any, are the most common reasons applicants fail to achieve contractor prequalification by work category and work level, and how many of those relate to project size or experience requirements instead of safety or compliance requirements?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that this information is not held in the way the Member has requested and undertaking such a comparison would require the manual review of historical prequalification applications, involving significant use of public resources. As such, I do not consider this work to be in the public interest.
Some common reasons why applicants may not achieve their requested prequalification level include:
- Insufficient evidence in reference material.
- Misalignment in application information.
- Experience not aligned to the requested level.
