17930 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing
Written Question
Published date: 15 May 2026
17930 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Further to his replies to Written Parliamentary Questions 8536 (2026), 55524 (2025), 55526 (2025), and 54625 (2025), in which he states that he did not receive advice from Treasury on the Riverlink variation in any of his ministerial capacities, was he aware at the time he signed the variation on 17 March 2025 that the Minister of Finance had not yet sought or received advice from Treasury on the same variation request, and if so, why did he not wait for that advice before signing?
Hon Chris Bishop: It’s the Minister of Finance’s prerogative to ask for advice on matters from the Treasury. In response to the second part of the question, I consider I received sufficient advice from Kāinga Ora and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to make an informed decision.
