17871 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: In response to Reply 11359 (2026), what actions would be taken in regard to School Transport Funding and Assistance if the National Fuel Response were to move to Step 2?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that there are already mechanisms in place within its school transport contracts to manage movements in fuel and related input costs. Currently, the Ministry is providing limited, temporary support through a 30 percent increase in conveyance allowances. At this stage, no further targeted school transport funding has been planned. Any further decisions would be considered on a case-by-case basis, at each phase. This is also my response to written parliamentary questions 17870 and 17872 (2026).
