17748 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: In response to Reply 13439 (2026), what region(s) are the 62 schools that have reported weather-related damage to the Ministry of Education since 1 January 2026 located in?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that there have now been 78 schools who have reported damage weather related damage since 1 January 2026; predominantly of a minor nature. Most of the damage sustained to school property was in the Lower North Island – Wellington region, Northland and a few in the Waikato.
