17713 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Infrastructure: What assessment, if any, has been made as to whether developments approved under the Fast-track Approvals Act are required to pay development contributions under the Local Government Act 2002?

Hon Chris Bishop: In accordance with sections 102, 198 and 201 of the Local Government Act 2002, development contributions must be applied consistent with a local authority's development contribution policy. That is the same under the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 as it is under the Resource Management Act 1991.
