17710 (2026). Teanau Tuiono to the Prime Minister: What advice, reports, briefings, emails, aide memoires, or any other documents has the Minister or any member of their Office seen, if any, about the detention of Everlee Wihongi in an ICE facility in the US?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am advised that officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet confirmed to staff in my office that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of a New Zealander detained in Los Angeles. For privacy reasons, I will not comment on the case further.
