17672 (2026). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: Has the Minister received any advice from officials on the risks, if any, of a NZU shortfall in the late 2020s, if so, what was this advice?

Hon Simon Watts: Officials regularly provide me with advice on the NZ ETS, including advice as part of the annual ETS Settings process. In their advice they outline a range of risks, including potential over and under supply of NZUs in the NZ ETS market. This advice is market sensitive and will be proactively released in due course.
