17670 (2026). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: What, if any, are the risks to New Zealand manufacturers of a NZU shortfall in the late 2020s?

Hon Simon Watts: The Climate Change Commission provided me its advice titled ‘NZ ETS unit limits and price control settings for 2027–2031’ on 23 April 2026. I am currently considering the advice, including the potential risks identified. The Government will seek feedback from stakeholders on the advice, including manufacturers, in public consultation in mid-2026.
