17668 (2026). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: Have officials advised the Minister on the risks to New Zealand's economy caused by volatile price spikes due to a potential NZU shortfall, if so, what were these risks?

Hon Simon Watts: Officials regularly provide me with advice on the NZ ETS, including advice as part of the annual ETS Settings process. In their advice they outline a range of risks. This advice is market sensitive and will be proactively released when appropriate.
