17454 (2025). Glen Bennett to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: What economic modelling, if any, was undertaken to conclude that the estimated additional 23,000 international visitors would collectively spend an extra $100 million across New Zealand?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that Tourism New Zealand utilised return on investment of recent and similar activity to identify how many incremental visitors each market would deliver based on allocation of funding. The visitor volumes were then multiplied by the average visitor spend for each market.
