17430 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Are staff from the more severe end of the mental health sector, being poached to work in the mild to moderate Access and Choice programme, as claimed by industry leaders; if so, how many staff has the severe end lost?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not collect data on the number of staff who have moved from roles in specialist mental health and addictions services to working in the Access and Choice programme. However, feedback from employers and reports from training providers for Integrated Primary Mental Health and Addictions services indicates people have been employed into Access and Choice from a range of different sources.
