17336 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What guidance, if any, has been issued regarding overtime or staffing restrictions at Rimutaka Prison, Auckland Prison, and Christchurch Men’s Prison, since 1 January 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that in September 2024, all prison sites were asked to focus on their overtime spend. This included completing an Overtime Management Plan, which was focused on improving fiscal responsibility in this space.
