17334 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: Since 1 January 2024, how many senior staff at Rimutaka Prison, Auckland Prison, and Christchurch Men’s Prison have been on secondment, if any, and what were the duration and associated costs of each, if any?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised Corrections has interpreted ‘senior staff’ as General Managers, Deputy General Managers, and Deputy General Managers Site Pathways. I am further advised that to provide the cost of these secondments would amount to substantial collation and manual analysis, which I am not prepared to ask of officials for the purpose of this response. Since 1 January 2024, there have been 89 secondments at the General Manager and Deputy General Manager level across Rimutaka, Auckland and Christchurch Men’s Prisons. I refer the member to the attached table for details of these secondments.
