17325 (2025). Hūhana Lyndon to the Minister of Health

17325 (2025). Hūhana Lyndon to the Minister of Health: What consultation process has Health NZ undertaken with relevant stakeholders, including the Public Service Association and affected employees, regarding the proposed job cuts in the audit, accreditation, and fraud prevention teams?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised there was an initial round of consultation in May to June 2024. As I said in Written Parliamentary Questions 17321 (2025) and 17326 (2025), I am advised the integration of the audit team will mean that the number of auditors is increased. I have made my expectations clear to Health New Zealand that the agency must maintain a strong focus on frontline services to ensure all New Zealanders can access timely, quality healthcare, and its change processes should prioritise reducing bureaucracy.
