17311 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for the Environment: What specific "relevant health guidelines" will be used to inform the setting of nitrate limits on waterways in Canterbury?

Hon Nicola Grigg: I refer the Member to my answer to Written Parliamentary Question 17310 (2026). The Member will be aware relevant guidelines could include, for example, the New Zealand Drinking Water Standards and the Recreational Water Quality Guidelines, both of which are informed by international evidence, including guidance from the World Health Organisation.
