17288 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: How many Court of Appeal cases, if any, did the Public Defence Service accept in 2024, and how many, if any, are they projected to accept in 2025?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Public Defence Service accepted 31 Court of Appeal cases in the 2024 calendar year. The Public Defence Service expect to receive a similar number of Court of Appeal cases for the full 2025 calendar year. As at 10 April 2025, the Public Defence Service have accepted 9 Court of Appeal cases for the 2025 calendar year.
