17262 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: What baseline data, if any, has the Government collected on how many existing Government buildings and planned construction use woolen fibres?
Hon Nicola Willis: There isn’t centralised data on how much woollen fibre has been used in existing government buildings or a pipeline of demand. However, the public sector spends over $50 billion dollars every year with suppliers to deliver public services, and around $18 billion of this expenditure is on infrastructure, which includes new construction, refurbishments and maintenance. There will be opportunities for the use of woollen fibre products, such as acoustic panels, carpets, and insulation, in these projects.
