17256 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Climate Change: What workstreams or programmes, if any, are underway across the public service to improve the ability of the public service to adapt to the impacts of climate change or increase climate resilience?

Hon Simon Watts: The Government published its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) in 2022. Actions in the NAP were updated in August 2024 as part of the regular cycle of monitoring and adjusting. The NAP sets out the actions the Government is taking and is planning to take to respond to climate-related risks in New Zealand. Some actions are those that support others to adapt to the impacts of climate change, and others relate to impacts that the public service is expected to experience and adapt to.
