17243 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: How many, if any, schools and ECEs did the Ministry of Education contact regarding the Wellington floods and/or regional State of Emergency?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that all schools, kura and early learning services in the Greater Wellington region were contacted by the Ministry of Education via email advising them of weather warnings. Included in the email were links directing them to MetService and Wellington Regional Emergency Management (WREMO) and urging them to follow the advice provided.
