Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 13163 (2026), what was the reason NZ Police was not formally notified until 1 August 2025, approximately six months after the initial detection of fraud in February 2025; was any informal notification provided to NZ Police prior to that date; and who within NZTA made the decision as to when NZ Police would be formally notified?

Hon Chris Bishop: I refer the Member to my response to Written Question 11429 (2026) regarding the actions that needed to be taken following the identification of potential fraud in February 2025. No informal notification was provided to NZ Police prior to 1 August 2025.
