Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 13169 (2026), has NZTA's position on the appropriate regulatory response to fraudulent overseas licence conversions changed since November 2025; if so, in what respect and on what date; and how many of the 461 individuals identified as having fraudulently converted licences have, to date, been (a) issued an infringement notice, (b) referred for prosecution, or (c) had no enforcement action taken beyond cancellation or suspension?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA's position on the appropriate regulatory response to fraudulent overseas licence conversions has not changed since November 2025. In response to the second part of the Member’s question, I refer the Member to my response to Written Question 17201 (2026).
