Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police does not have a specific offence code for petrol or diesel theft from private property. Identifying incidents that meet the criteria outlined in the question would require manual examination of individual event narratives across multiple offence types to determine whether petrol or diesel was involved and whether the theft occurred on private property. The time and associated cost involved in obtaining this information are not, in my view, justifiable.
