17144 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Prime Minister: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received about the Khalistani movement?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters, including from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). In my capacity as Prime Minister, I have received some advice on the Khalistani independence movement from DPMC, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade provided me with briefing material to support my visit to India last month. In my capacity as Prime Minister and Minister for National Security and Intelligence I received the following document from DPMC: Khalistan "referendum" and system response, 5 November 2024. In addition, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices.
