17106 (2026). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: How, if at all, will he ensure that every single part of the proposed Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport does better for the environment?

Hon Chris Bishop: I intend to regularly monitor the performance of the Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport (MCERT) in relation to all of its strategic objectives once they are developed. MCERT will also continue to produce statutory reporting on different aspects of our environment (such as the recently released Our Freshwater 2026).
