17068 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: How, if at all, does he intend to ensure that the development of a New Zealand-specific infant formula standard is supported by a robust consultation process, including an evidence-based analysis?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: A new infant formula standard will be as closely aligned as possible with the Australian standard. My officials have developed options more clearly reflecting New Zealand’s needs in labelling, and I am carefully considering all of them. This includes consulting with stakeholders.
