Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development has spent $629k on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year. I am further advised that the Social Workers Registration Board spent $2,862 on auditing purposes of meeting the government carbon neutral programme requirements in the 2023/24 year. The Independent Children's Monitor spent $10,137 in 2023/24 on its Toitū Envirocare membership which provides carbon emissions assurance and verification services. The remaining Crown entities I am responsible for are not covered by the programme.
