17035 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: How much, if any, did the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, spend on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme in the 2023/24 financial year?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that, in the 2023/24 financial year, the following amounts were spent on the Carbon Neutral Government Programme • The Ministry of Education: $5,112,112 • The Education Review Office: $12,124 • Education New Zealand: $16,093. I am advised that the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) does not budget separately for the Carbon Neutral Government programme. NZQA’s carbon neutral expenditure in 2023/24 of $13,000 relates to the Toitū audit and annual membership fees.
