17016 (2026). Steve Abel to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What papers, if any, did the Minister take to cabinet about whether or not the government would progress the resumption of live animal exports since January 2025, listed by title and date?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Two papers were considered by Cabinet Committee during this period: - "Supporting the highest Standards of Animal Welfare for Livestock Exported by Sea: Release of Discussion Document" 21 July 2025 and 25 August 2025 - "Animal Welfare (Livestock by Ship) Amendment Bill: Approval for Introduction" on 21 July 2025 and 25 August 2025.
