16980 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Further to reply 12093 (2026), which public hospitals rely on gas as the primary fuel for their boilers, and what contingency arrangements exist at each site for a disruption to gas supply?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that 26 Health New Zealand facilities use natural gas as the primary heating (boiler) source. I refer the Member to the attached table. I am further advised that each site has contingency planning in place that is site and risk specific. Where sites are small satellite clinics, patients would be referred to main hospitals, or alternative access times or locations would be arranged.
