16965 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What advice, if any, has Health New Zealand received from St John and Wellington Free Ambulance regarding their ability to maintain normal service levels if retail fuel supply is disrupted for 7, 14, or 30 days plus?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that emergency road ambulance services are included in Band A of the Fuel Response Plan 2026, which is the highest priority group of recipients for fuel.
I am further advised that emergency road ambulance services do not have independent fuel storage. Maintaining fuel supply will be enabled through the Fuel Response Plan.
