Hon Shane Jones: Following the convening of the FSCE, fuel importers engaged with MBIE officials and provided regular updates to officials on stock levels, shpping status, and demand conditions through engagement with officials, including through the FSCE. Officials were advised that some fuel importers adjusted allocation and distribution practices in response to regional distribution pressures. This included changes to allocation settings and improvements to customer communications. Distributors and importers advised officials that they were actively managing demand pressures through allocation and volume management measures to maintain system stability. Fuel importers also discussed contingency planning with officials, including forward supply planning, alternative sourcing options, and potential resilience measures such as additional storage. Some fuel importers indicated willingness to provide additional supply or demand data to officials to support ongoing monitoring.
