16826 (2026). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister support strengthening merger laws to reduce market concentration; if yes, how?

Cameron Brewer: Yes. The Government is progressing stronger merger laws through the Commerce (Promoting Competition and Other Matters) Amendment Bill, which is currently before the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee.
