Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: How many staff in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that are responsible to the Minister, if any, that had responding to or processing Official Information Act requests as a core part of their job description, if any, lost their jobs or were restructured out of their roles into a role where OIA requests were not a core part of their role, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry) that during the period 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024, the Ministry undertook an organisational change effective from 1 July 2024, and the Ministerial Services and Nominations team (the team) responsible for administering OIA requests, reduced from six staff to three. The responding and processing of OIAs is one of multiple functions in the job description; it is performed by all members of the team, and not a core function to a specific role.
