16668 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Justice: How many staff in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that are responsible to the Minister, if any, that had responding to or processing Official Information Act requests as a core part of their job description, if any, lost their jobs or were restructured out of their roles into a role where OIA requests were not a core part of their role, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: Ministry of Justice: I am advised that three Ministry staff, who had responding to or processing Official Information Act requests as a core part of their job description were made redundant, and four others successfully applied for roles within the Ministry where OIA requests were not a core part, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024.
I am also advised that two new roles were also added, leading to a net reduction of five full-time equivalent roles: from 22 to 17.
Crown Entities: I am advised that of the Crown Entities that I am responsible none had staff affected whose role required Official Information Act requests as part of their core responsibilities affected during any restructure during the period.
