16662 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many staff in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that are responsible to the Minister, if any, that had responding to or processing Official Information Act requests as a core part of their job description, if any, lost their jobs or were restructured out of their roles into a role where OIA requests were not a core part of their role, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024?
Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024, the New Zealand Lotteries Commission, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, and the Office of Film and Literature Classification had no staff that lost their jobs that had responding to, or processing, Official Information Act 1982 requests (OIA requests) as a core part of their job description. Nor were any restructured out of their roles into a role where OIA requests were not a core part of their role. I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that one position that responded to, or processed, OIA requests as a core part of its job description, was disestablished between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024.
