16536 (2026). Oriini Kaipara to the Minister of Housing: What meetings, if any, were held between Kāinga Ora officials and representatives of Rawiri Community House, Auckland Council, or the Manurewa Local Board regarding the future of the Rawiri Community House site?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities advises me that it leases the Rawiri Community House to Auckland Council. The Council subleases to the community group, and as such is the key relationship holder. In January 2025 Kāinga Ora met with Council staff to commence planning for the return of the four community houses at lease expiry on 30 June 2026. There were subsequent meetings between Kāinga Ora and Auckland Council staff, and a meeting with a Councillor. Kāinga Ora has a standing quarterly meeting attendance with the Manurewa Local Board and last attended in March 2026.
