Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: How many staff in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that are responsible to the Minister, if any, that had responding to or processing Official Information Act requests as a core part of their job description, if any, lost their jobs or were restructured out of their roles into a role where OIA requests were not a core part of their role, between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024, no New Zealand Customs Service staff for whom a core part of their job description involved responding to or processing Official Information Act requests, lost their jobs or were restructured out of their roles into a role where Official Information Act requests were not a core part of their role. I am advised that any staff member of the Border Executive Board secretariat may respond to Official Information Act requests. There have been no changes to the roles within the Border Executive Board secretariat between 27 November 2023 and 31 December 2024. The Border Executive Board secretariat are employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
