Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Further to her answer to written question 12426 (2026): has Fire and Emergency New Zealand been advised how their classification as a critical customer in terms of fuel supply under National Fuel Plan phases 2, 3 and 4 affects them?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that Fire and Emergency has provided full analysis on its operational needs and the risks across the four phases of the National Fuel Plan. The fuel plan includes a Fuel Response Framework, which Fire and Emergency will work within to maintain emergency response capability. Fire and Emergency is yet to be informed of the mechanisms for accessing fuel across the phases.
