Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Have there been any changes since 1 November 2023 to eligibility criteria, or assessment and decision-making processes, in relation to applications for the Relocate for Work Support; if so, what were they and when did they come into effect?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that from 31 March 2025, the Relocate for Work Support replaced the $5K to Work Grant and provided limited financial support for eligible beneficiaries to relocate to take up an offer of suitable and sustainable employment. The amount paid was dependent on the beneficiary’s individual circumstances, including their needs, how far they were moving, the type of transport they would be using, and if they were moving alone or with their immediate family.
