16424 (2026). Tamatha Paul to the Associate Minister of Housing: What proportion of the Ministry’s budget, if any, is allocated to processing bond refunds?

Hon Tama Potaka: Funding for the Bond Processing cost centre, which includes funding for the Tenancy Bond Services team and Tenancy Modernisation programme activities, represents approximately 32.6 percent of the relevant appropriation in 2025/2026 financial year. This cost centre supports a range of tenancy bond related functions. It is not possible to identify what proportion of this funding is specifically allocated to processing bond refunds, as expenditure is managed and reported at the cost centre level and is not disaggregated by individual activity type.
