16405 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for ACC: How does the Integrated Care Pathways Musculoskeletal programme integrate with other healthcare services at the district level to ensure comprehensive care for arthritis patients, if at all?

Hon Scott Simpson: I am advised that clients who are declined cover and are not entered into the service are referred by contracted Integrated Care Pathways Musculoskeletal (ICPMSK) suppliers to publicly available services, as clinically appropriate. Clients can only enter the ICPMSK service if they have cover for post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the shoulder or knee. Clients without a prior history of substantial knee or shoulder injury would not routinely be referred to be triaged by this service.
