16364 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What further funding beyond that already announced, if any, will be made available to East Coast communities impacted by the January 27 storms?

Hon Chris Penk: I am advised by the National Emergency Management Agency that further recovery funding is being actively progressed through existing agency mechanisms. This includes transport network recovery, iwi-led community recovery, environmental remediation, and housing. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has already committed funding for the deployment of 36 temporary housing cabins in the region.
