16298 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has Health NZ assessed whether the jobs expected to be created in the private sector under new ophthalmology outsourcing arrangements would displace existing positions in the public health system, if not why not?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand recognises the potential for workforce movement between the public and private sectors. This is considered as part of broader workforce planning.
