16273 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: For each rehabilitation service type, in February 2026 what were; the number of people on the waitlist as at 28 February 2026, programme starts, and programme completions, if any, by prison and gender?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections acknowledges the importance of delivering programmes to people in prison and it is a top priority for Corrections to ensure that everyone eligible for a rehabilitation programme has the opportunity to attend and complete these programmes. I am further advised that a person’s eligibility to participate in any particular programme can depend on a number of factors, including their security classification, identified risks and willingness to engage. Some people may also be on a waitlist if it is not the appropriate time in their sentence to complete a programme. I refer the member to Appendix One which outlines the number of prisoners on a waitlist for psychological services and rehabilitation programmes at 28 February 2026, and Appendix Two for programme completions. This is also my response to WPQ16295 (2026).
