16157 (2025). Rawiri Waititi to the Minister of Health: What steps, if any, is Health New Zealand taking to reduce any potential visa, supervision, or certification barriers for overseas-trained obstetricians seeking to practise in regional New Zealand?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that certification and supervision is a matter for the Medical Council of New Zealand. However, our Government is currently reviewing health workforce regulation to reduce tape and put patients first.
