16094 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, will the Minister take to close the gap between Maori and non-Maori life expectancy?

Hon Simeon Brown: As I said in the House on 12 March 2025, our Government is committed to improving health outcomes for all New Zealanders, including Māori. That’s why we have brought back the health targets to reduce wait times and ensure patients are seen sooner, made significant investments to improve access to GP clinics and community healthcare, and maintained a strong focus on early intervention.
