16011 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many High-Risk Residential Service beds are Corrections set to deliver by June 2028, if any?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that plans are in place to deliver four additional High-Risk Residential Services beds at Corrections’ Te Korowai service in Upper Hutt, with construction expected to commence in May 2025. I am also advised that Corrections is preparing a Detailed Business Case for additional High-risk residential beds across the network that is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.
