15883 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: What communications, if any, has the Minister had about ongoing issues with Russell Customhouse, broken down by sender and date?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I have received a media query on this matter, from RNZ (17 July 2024), and direct public correspondence from one sender on three occasions, 5 December 2023, 5 July 2024 and on 27 July 2024. For privacy reasons I will not be disclosing the senders’ details. I sought advice from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, who advised that correspondence on this matter be referred to the Minister of Police, as responsibility for the property sits within the Police portfolio. I also received a ‘no surprises’ notification from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage that this topic would be appearing on TVNZ’s Breakfast programme on 4 February 2025.
