15359 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What consultations did the Minister’s departments, if any, open on the week beginning 24 March 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles were affected?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries opened one consultation on 28 March 2025 within New Zealand Food Safety. The proposal aims to enhance the service delivery and operational efficiency of the Food Risk Management directorate. The key changes proposed are a new operating structure, with nine positions proposed to be disestablished, eight new positions proposed to be established and 47 positions proposed to have minor changes. Consultation closes on 11 April 2025.
