Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Sport and Recreation: What was the composition - in percentage terms - of sources of energy consumed to power or heat buildings, if any, in the Minister’s department’s, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, in 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised the Sport Integrity Commission used 100 percent electricity to power or heat buildings in 2024. Sport NZ Group has 7 sites across New Zealand. Energy Is supplied by electricity grid to 5 sites; 1 is LPG and 1 is Natural Gas. As per Speaker’s Ruling 199/6, I do not consider it to be in the public interest to undertake an exercise to identify and collate the material requested to convert all energy consumption across the sites into % terms, as it will require a significant diversion of resources
